HPA establishes dengue hotline

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has set up a hotline for providing information on dengue fever, following a serious outbreak of the disease in the country.

At a press conference tonight, HPA said that the 24-hour hotline can be reached by dialling 754 8221.

The death of a five-year-old girl brought the dengue death toll in the Maldives this year to three.

Authorities have said that the disease is spreading at an alarming rate across the country. Efforts are ongoing by the government to put measures in place to control the outbreak.
