Parliament approves three ministers

The appointment by President Abdulla Yameen, of Ahmed Zuhoor as Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr Ahmed Ziyad as Minister of Islamic Affairs, and Iruthisham Adam as Minister of Health, have been approved by the parliament.

The three appointments were approved with votes in favour by all MPs present at today’s sitting.

Zuhoor, who until then served as Health Minister, was appointed as Youth Minister following the dismissal of Mohamed Maleeh Jamal.

Zuhoor was appointed Youth Minister and Iruthisham Health Minister on 20 May 2015.

Dr Ahmed Ziyad was appointed as Islamic Affairs Minister on 6 May 2015, following the resignation of Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
