National airline Maldivian has reduced its fee for transportation of local agricultural produce from the islands to Malé, by up to 60 percent.
Head of Cargo of Island Aviation Ahmed Saleem told Sun Online that the price has been reduced by 60 percent for cargo exceeding 45 kilos from Addu, Fuvahmulah, and Kadhdhoo to Malé.
This means a reduction in the price from MVR 10 per kilo to MVR 4 per kilo.
Saleem said that similarly, price has been reduced by 50 percent for cargo exceeding 45 kilos from destinations excluding Addu, Fuvahmulah, and Kadhdhoo.
He said that Island Aviation’s aim is to facilitate transport of fruits and vegetables to Malé as fresh as possible.
Maldivian operates daily flights to all airports in the country.
