MP Sujaau: The target is to make Adheeb the Vice President before

Member of the PPM’s Parliamentary Group, Ibrahim Sujaau has said that the goal of the PPM Parliamentary Group is to make the Tourism Minister, Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Gafoor the Vice President of the Country before 26 July, the Independence Day of Maldives.

Sujaau said this speaking at tonight’s Taraweeh feast celebrating the passing of the amendment reducing the age of candidacy for Presidency and the Vice Presidency.

MP Sujaau said that the decision made by Parliament today was for the future of the youth.

Sujaau said, “Our target is to make Adheeb the Vice President before July 26”.

Tourism Minister Adheeb can be assigned as the Vice President after the Parliament takes a vote of no confidence against the current Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed.

Dr. Jameel can be replaced with the vote of 2/3 of the Parliament. That is 57 votes out of the 85 members of the Parliament.

At the function tonight, Sujaau said the President Abdulla Yamin is someone who prioritizes the youth and so has made a lot of things easier for the Youth.

And the President has amended the law so that people serving prison sentences can return to society after completing a quarter of their sentence.

He also said that there is an amendment bill at the Parliament now to forgive all traffic fines and that would bill would be passed before 26 July and save a large number of youth from debt to the state.
