Eight arrested on suspicion of prostitution

Eight people have been arrested on suspicion of prostitution.

The arrests of the three women and five men took place during a raid of M. Woodpecker at around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Police said that four rooms in the house were searched during the raid, during which large quantities of cash in Maldivian Rufiyaa and foreign currency, and items used in sexual activity were seized.

The case is under investigation by the Serious and Organised Crime Department of the police.
