Police have commenced efforts to remove abandoned vehicles from the streets of Malé.
Sub-Inspector of Police Ahmed Haneef said that the operation to remove damaged, unused, and abandoned vehicles parked in Malé, which began this morning, will continue until all such vehicles are removed.
He said that the vehicles will be taken to Thilafushi and police will not be responsible for damage caused during transportation.
The vehicles will be released when the necessary procedure is completed by the owner, said Haneef.
In the efforts that took place between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. today, 14 four-wheeled vehicles have been towed and are on their way to Thilafushi, said police.
