President pledges MVR 32,000 to each player if they win volleyball final

President Abdulla Yameen has pledged MR 32,000 to each player of the national volleyball team if they win against Turkmenistan in the final match of the Asian Senior Mens Central Zone Volleyball Championship, scheduled to kick off at 5:00 p.m. today Malé time.

Earlier, President Yameen rang Manager of the national volleyball team Ali Latheef and congratulated the team on reaching the final, and encouraged them to win the final match.

In addition to pledging MVR 32,000 to each player if they win, the President also promised MVR 250,000 to the team if they finish in second place.

Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom also congratulated the team on reaching the final, on Twitter yesterday.

Maldives reached the final by beating Afghanistan yesterday, in the ongoing tournament in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
