Protection needs to be given to Police and Armed Forces: President

President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has said that efforts have to be made to protect Police and Armed Forces.

Addressing the MNDF and Police personnel in Kulhudhuffushi last evening, the President assured that the government would make every possible effort to provide full protection against, and to prevent the disturbances being caused to the MNDF and Police personnel and their families.

President Waheed commended the patience, dedication, and integrity shown in the Police and Armed Forces’ work, despite the many challenges faced during the past three months.

In his speech, the President noted national service provided by the Police and Armed Forces by establishing peace and harmony in the country. Speaking in this regard, the President called for steadfast, dedicated service from the Police and MNDF personnel, in accordance with the constitution, in protecting the safety of the country.
