Four paramedic ambulances have been brought to the Maldives to start the emergency ambulance service.
State Minister of the Health Ministry, Hussain Rasheed has said on a previous occasion that the emergency ambulance service would be introduce in two major areas of the country. He said that the ambulance service would be starting in Addu atoll and Laamu atoll.
He said that those two areas were chosen because that is the highest traffic collision area. State Minister Hussain said that when the ambulance service is introduced, the staff would be ready as well. He said that trained paramedics would be in the ambulances.
Aside from paramedic ambulances, Health Ministry has signed an agreement with STO to find ambulances for different islands.
Under the government works to guarantee healthcare via land, STO has been tasked last Novvember to find 54 ambulances.
