Three sentenced to five years in prison for stabbing seven people

Criminal Court has sentenced three people to five years in prison for stabbing seven people in Gnaviyani Fuvahmulah.

The three convicts are Abdulla Zahir, Niushad Mohamed, and Shafau Ahmed.

They along with Hassan Fareed, were charged by the State for intimidation by participating in an illegal assembly carrying objects that could be considered murder weapons.

Separately, Hassan Fareed was convicted of the murder of Abdulla Shuhad today, and sentenced to death.

The court said that witness testimonies proved that the three people participated in the act, and medico legal reports proved the victims’ injuries.

They were sentenced to five years in prison under Article 51 of the Penal Code.
