Murder charges against the foreigner who was accused of killing another foreigner has been dropped

Criminal Court has delivered a verdict of “Not Guilty” on the foreigner who was arrested for the murder at Hulhumale’ No.4 Flat in 2009.

A Bangladeshi national was arrested for the murder of another Bangladeshi national on 11 September 2009 around 5:20 a.m. while he was asleep.

The Criminal Court’s verdict today said that although the Bangladeshi national, Milon died from injuries he received, the evidence is not sufficient enough to prove that it was the accused, Farook, that inflicted those injuries.

The accused Bangladeshi citizen, Farook, admitted to stabbing the victim in his neck while he was asleep after a conflict between them when he was questioned by the Police during the investigation.

But at the trial, he said that the confession was forced through intimidation by the Police.
