Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that all Maldivians in Nepal are safe, following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake in the country today.
A senior official of Foreign Ministry told Sun Online that efforts were still ongoing to monitor the situation, and no details were available.
He said that the exact number of Maldivians presently in Nepal is also unknown, as many students out of the 91 Maldivians who were evacuated following the first earthquake, had returned to Nepal.
Four are now confirmed dead in the second earthquake to strike the country in less than three weeks. 8,000 people died and 18,000 were injured in the initial 7.8 magnitude earthquake on 25 April.
