Police have said that 116 people arrest at the opposition protest in Male’ on 1 May have been released.
Police Media Official told Sun Media tonight that 50 of detainees were released on the 7 May and 10 were released yesterday. And 56 people were released today.
He said that they all were released because there was no further reason to keep them detained.
The Media Official said that there are 56 people arrested at the protest on 1 May still in Police custody.
Police has sent cases to the PG’s office to press charges against 80 people regarding the protest.
The organizers of the protest, Leader of the Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla and the Vice President of the Jumhooree Party, Ameen Ibrahim along with the Foreign and Public Relations of the Party, Sobah Rasheed are all in Police custody and being investigated.
Police are looking for a large number of people regarding the assault on the Police officer at the protest while 11 people have been arrested regarding the assault.
