Three people arrested in the woods of Gan sentenced to life in prison

Criminal Court has sentenced three people arrested in the eastern woods on the island of Gan in Laamu atoll, who were packing illegal drugs to life in prison.

The three people sentenced were Ahmed Haneef, Abdulla Shakeeb and Mausoom Moosa.

They were arrested by the Police on 15 November 2010 around 12:30 p.m.

The three men fled when the Police arrived on scene. The sentence from the Criminal Court today said that the investigation report proved that 15.1376 grams of cannabis in the search of the area where they were found.
