Road accident kills one, injures another in Hulhumal

One man was killed and another sustained fatal injuries in a road accident occurred at Hulhumalé today. The accident occurred when a lorry operated by Hulhumalé Development Corporation hit a motorcycle. Ahmed Naseer, 41, Baadeege, Th. Guraidhoo, the man who died, was driving the motor vehicle, while the injured man whose identity the police has not yet revealed officially was on the backseat of the bike.

Pictures from the scene show that Naseer suffered mortal head injuries, and bled profusely. The police informed that he was taken to Hulhumalé Hospital immediately, only to be declared dead by the doctors.

Naseer’s colleage who sustained severe injuries has been under intensive care at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital since the accident. Although the police have not revealed his identity, informal sources have affirmed that Mohamed Sharath, 42, M.A. Kaamineege Hulhangubai is the person who suffered injuries in the accident and has been hospitalized.
