President departs on state visit to Pakistan

President Abdulla Yameen has departed on a two-day state visit to Pakistan.

The President is accompanied by First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim.

During the visit, the President will call on President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain, and meet with Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Shareef.

President Yameen and Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef will lead official bilateral talks between senior delegations of the two countries.

The two countries will also enter into bilateral agreements covering sports, healthcare, education, and combating narcotic drugs, during the President's visit.
