Boat not allowed to leave Manadhoo for failure to meet safety requirements

A boat has been held by police in Noonu Manadhoo for failure to meet safety standards, as it was preparing to depart to Malé for the mass rally scheduled for this afternoon.

Police said that “Maafaru” was checked as it arrived in Manadhoo.

Operations are under way by police and Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), to search boats travelling to Malé to participate in the mass rally.
