Building a temporary terminal to rebuild the main passenger terminal

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has officially begun construction of a temporary terminal to rebuild the main passenger terminal at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA).

Under the airport development project initiated by the government, MTCC has been charged with various tasks other than the terminal.

Those include 13 new buildings on the eastside of the airport, renovation of five existing buildings, renewing the roads, rebuilding the terminal and removing the concrete base for the terminal by GMR.

The project was officially inaugurated by the Managing Director of the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Adhil Moosa and the CEO of MTCC, Ibrahim Abdul Razzaaq Haleem and other high ranking officials of both those companies.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Managing Director of MACL, Adhil said that the MTCC was tasked to finish their work in five months and hope that they project would be completed and the building assigned to MACL at the end of that peropis.

The CEO of MTCC, Haleem said that MTCC is the strongest construction company in the Maldives at the moment. So the project will be completed in five months.

MTCC was tasked with the project on 29 March 2015.
