Minister: Efforts under way to drill boreholes for bridge project

Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said that efforts have commenced to drill about 29 boreholes up to 50 meters deep in the sea, as part of the Malé-Hulhulé bridge project.

Dr Muizzu posted two updates regarding the bridge project on Twitter this morning.

On 9 April, Dr Muizzu said that 200 meters had been closed off in the sea from the southern end of Hulhulé, for the purpose of conducting surveys under the design phase of the project. The work is carried out by a Chinese company.
