Nasheed transferred to Asseyri Prison in Himmafushi

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has been transferred to Asseyri Prison in Kaafu Himmafushi.

Police said that until now, Nasheed was held in Dhoonidhoo.

Minister of Home Affairs Umar Naseer said earlier that Nasheed will be in Dhoonidhoo until special arrangements are made for him in Maafushi Prison.

Maldives Correctional Service said that construction is under way, in relation to special arrangements for Nasheed in Maafushi.
