Fatal accident in Thilafushi

A man has died in a fatal accident between an excavator and a forklift at the industrial zone in Thilafushi.

Media Coordinator of IGM hospital, Zeenath Habeeb told Sun Media today that two people were brought to the hospital after an accident in Thilafushi.

IGMH said that the30-year-old Bangladeshi citizen was dead on arrival. And he was declared dead by doctors at 1 p.m. today.

Zeenath said that according to doctors, the man suffered internal injuries and some of the bones of his chest were broken as well.

The hospital said that along with the Bangladeshi citizen, an unconscious driver working at Thilafushi was also brought to the hospital and his condition is good.

Police said that today’s accident occurred while trying to recover a forklift from a ditch with the use of an excavator. And the Maldivian driving the excavator was taken to the hospital because he lost unconscious and not because he suffered any injuries.
