Elderly man found dead in sea near Alifushi

An elderly man has been found dead in the sea near Raa Alifushi.

The deceased has been identified as Ali Ibrahim, 81.

Vice President of Alifushi Council Ibrahim Shareef told Sun Online that Ali Ibrahim was found in the sea off the area dedicated for pulling boats ashore, and it is likely that he fell into the sea while walking on the jetty.

The official reason behind his death will be known after the police investigation, he said.

Ali Ibrahim’s grandchild told Sun Online that Ali Ibrahim had suffered three strokes in the past, and enjoys swimming in the sea.

He said that Ali Ibrahim was too weak to swim, and that it is possible that he drowned.

The incident is under investigation by the police.
