Two special courses for Police officers has begun

Special courses for investigation officers and station management officer’s has begun today.

A ceremony was held at Iskandharu Koshi for the inauguration of “Investigation Officer’s Course” and the “Station Management Course” today. The President of the Police Integrity Commission (PIC), Fathimath Sareera Ali Shareef was the chief guest.

Speaking at the ceremony about the details of the course, the Chief Superintendent of Police, Abdulla Navaz said that the two courses are conducted with special attention from the Institute for Security and Law Enforcement Studies. And so the Investigation Officer’s Course which was conducted for the duration of two weeks would now extend to five weeks and the Management Course would be conducted for the duration of three months.

“We have extended the duration of the course after reviewing the international level of the curriculum at which the courses are being conducted and adjusting to the environment of the Maldives. Also, we have included field experience and research based assessment during this period.” Navaz said.

In the two courses that started today, a total of 44 officers took part in the 26th Investigation Officer’s Course. And 30 officers took part in the 19th Station Management Course. Officers of the Police Integrity Commission and Customs Integrity Officers are among the participants in the courses.
