Baa Atoll’s Kendhoo has initiated Scout activities for the first time.
A total of 29 students took oath in last night’s ceremony. The Scout Oath was read by the Kendhoo School Scout Leader, Ahmed Jawaad.
Chief Guest, Ibrahim Waheed, and the Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association, President of the Kendhoo Island Council and Members of the Scout Executive Committee award the Group Scarfs and the Membership certificate.
Kendhoo School Principal and the Group Scout Leader also took the oath last night. The Scout Oath was read by Saif Azhar, a member of the National Scout Council. The scarf was presented by Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association, Hussain Abdulla. The Oath renewal to Scout Leaders and Helpers also took place in last night’s ceremony.
Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association, Hussain Abdulla (Kendhu) said that it is very important to hold Scout activities in the atolls as much as possible.
He said that because of Scout, when the students complete their education go into the job environment; they are properly trained to do their “national service”. And the goal of the Scout Association is to initiate Scout activities in all the schools in the country.
Aside from the Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association, the School Principal and member of the National Scout Council spoke in the ceremony last night. All the head of departments of the School, students, parents and the citizens of Kendhoo also took part in the ceremony.
