The final survey for the bridge between Male’ and Hulhumale’ has started today.
While a Chinese team and a team from the Housing Ministry is moving forward with the survey, the Housing Minister, Dr. Mohamed Muiz told Sun Media today that these surveys are to being the construction of the bridge and the technical work to initiate the construction would also be done.
“All the surveys required would be completed with God’s will. Next, it (a survey) would be done to see if it’s feasible or not to continue to the actual work.” Minister said.
He said the survey that started would take place in the sea and in land Male’, Hulhumale’ and Hulhule’. And the survey would be completed in about two months.
A Chinese team has conducted bridge surveys previously in Maldives. But that survey was to ensure if it was feasible to build a bridge.
In the past week, the Tousim Minister and the Co-chair of the Economic Council, Ahmed Adheeb said that the full design of the bridge would be completed at the end of June.
The Minister for the President’s Office, Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) said that the Chinese Commercial Minister has guaranteed the physical work of the bridge within the year in writing.
