Channel One journalist released

Channel One journalist Mohamed Niyaz who was arrested while working as a reporter during a recent anti-government protest , has been released.

The police spokesperson said that Niyaz was released by Criminal Court when taken for the remand hearing.

Niyaz was arrested for obstruction during a protest on Wednesday night.

Raajje TV journalists Mohamed Visam and Cameraman Adam Zareer remain in police custody, and the court has extended their remand in police custody by five days.
