The Secretary General of the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), Ibrahim Munaz says that they are taking part, for the first time, in one of the biggest tourism fairs in the central Asia, the Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair.
In an interview to Sun Media, Secretary General Munaz said that MATATO decided to take part in the fair because it is the leading tourism fair in the region.
“We are taking part in this fair to provide opportunities for the Travel Agents. It would be costly to take a spot individually. But we are taking a big spot and giving it to Travel Agencies at a low price.” Munaz said.
Munaz said the active tourism sector wants to take part in this fair with MATATO.
The Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair will be held from 22 – 24 April in the business central of Kazakhstan, Almaty. The Kazakhstani tourism industry believes that the number of Kazakhstani tourists would increase from 2011 – 2016 by 17 percent.
