Final witness testifies against Tholhath

The court has heard testimonies from all witnesses provided by the state against former Minister of Defence Tholhath Ibrahim Kaleyfaan, in the case regarding the arrest of Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed in 2012.

Testifying in court today, then Principal Director of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Admin and Personnel Service, Ibrahim Rasheed, said that Tholhath said during a meeting at Bandaara Koshi that he would take responsibility, and no MNDF officer would have to take responsibility for the judge’s arrest.

Following Ibrahim Rasheed’s testimony, Judge Abdulla Didi said that the court had heard all the witnesses provided by the state, and scheduled discussions on documentary evidences and presentation of concluding statements for the next hearing.

Many MNDF officers have testified against Tholhath during previous hearings as well.
