President Yameen departs on state visit to Saudi Arabia

President Abdulla Yameen and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim have departed on a state visit to Saudi Arabia, on the invitation of King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The President’s Office said that President Yameen and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim will be welcomed upon arrival at Riyadh King Khalid International Airport, by King Salman.

During the visit, a meeting will take place between King Salman and President Yameen, and King Salman will host a banquet in President Yameen’s honour.

Also, Saudi Defence Minister, Saudi Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister, Saudi Education Minister, Saudi Finance Minister, and Saudi Islamic Affairs Minister will call on President Yameen.

The President is accompanied in this state visit by Leader of Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr Mohamed Shainee, and Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
