Police have denied the rumors about the journalist of Minivan News, Ahmed Rilwan being killed in a war.
The police said that the search for Rilwan is ongoing in collaboration with his family and all willing to help. Police also said that at a time like this, the rumors being spread on the social media and some news media which says that Rilwan has joined a rouge militia and died in a war, is “not accurate news”. They also said the picture of Rilwan in a militia uniform were false and doctored.
Police says there’s no proof that Rilwan left the country. They said that his passport has been found after the police was notified that he was missing. And that information has been released before.
In the search for Ahmed Rilwan, police have searched Male’ and Hulhumale’ and used CCTV footage. And some evidence have been sent abroad for further investigation.
