The former president Mohamed Nasheed’s lawyers decide not to attend court tonight for the hearing in the charge of terrorism against the former president for the unlawful arrest of the Chief Judge of the Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed.
The team of lawyers has confirmed that they won’t be attending the hearing tonight at 8 p.m. since not enough time has been given to prepare.
While the lawyers of the former president claims that not enough time has been given to prepare, the head judge in the trial Abdulla Didi said that this case is not regarding something that happened recently and believe that enough time have been given to the lawyers to prepare.
President Nasheed was given the opportunity to get a lawyer since his defense lawyers did not come to court for the hearing last night. And the former president said that it’s not possible to assign a lawyer from Dhoonidhoo.
The Criminal Court has decided to carry forward with the trial even if the defense lawyers does not show attend.
