Submarine cable was damaged by an anchor: Dhiraagu

Dhiraagu has said that as speculated, the damage to the submarine cable was caused by an anchor.

Dhiraagu Marketing and PR Executive Ibrahim Imjad Jaleel confirmed this to Sun:

“Following the repair vessel’s investigation, where they removed the cable from the sea, it has been confirmed that the damage was caused by a ship’s anchor.”

He did not give any further details of the damage.

Imjad said that repair work is ongoing with the help of an underwater vessel. Dhiraagu has indicated that the problems will be solved by the end of the month.
