MNDF: Rumors of conflict between the MNDF and Police are false

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) says the rumors on Social Media about conflicts between the MNDF and the Police at the protest rallies are completely false.

In a press release by MNDF last night, they said the rumors about that in the Social Media are false.

And the MNDF has played no part in controlling the protest rallies.

“And while no conflicts have taken place between the Police and the MNDF, no MNDF officer has been taken to police custody.” The press release say.

Maldives Police Service has condemned the actions of Raaje TV for spreading false information about MNDF officers being out to arrest police officers.

The Policed advised Raaje TV to broadcast accurate news to the people.

Police said they have arrested 26 people in the protest last night calling for the release of the former president Mohamed Nasheed who is charged with terrorism. The people were arrested for obstructing police duty.
