Alligator tracks found in Sh. Goidhoo

Alligator tracks have been found on the beach of Sh. Goidhoo.

President of the Goidhoo council Ibrahim Shaahid said to Sun Media today that the tracks were found this morning. And the tracks are of an alligator but it’s difficult to say that an alligator made the tracks.

“Our island is frequented by turtles a lot. But the tracks we see today are completely different. They are definitely different from turtle tracks. Then from the council we talked to the elders in the island and they said it’s not turtle tracks. And most likely alligator tracks.

The council president says that the tracks indicate that it came up to end of the beach and then left the island. He said that it has been reported to the police and they are working according to the instructions from the police.

“We have alerted the inhabitants of the island. It could be in the sea as well.” Shaahid said.

Reports of alligator sightings have increase in the country as of late.
