JP office, Riyaz

The office of Jumhooree Party (JP) located at M. Kunooz, and the car belonging to JP member Abdulla Riyaz have been vandalised with crude oil.

Eyewitnesses told Sun Online that the attack was carried out by a group on motorbikes, while party officials were talking to reporters after a joint meeting between JP and Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

Sun Online reporter who visited the scene said that oil was splashed at the wall of the office in two places, and some of it ended up on Riyaz’s car.

JP Spokesperson Ali Solih said that the incident has been reported to police.

Police said that the case is under investigation.
