The police have said that 21 people remain arrested in relation to the ongoing series of protests in Malé.
The police spokesperson said that this includes two people arrested on 18 February, who have been given remand periods of ten days by the court.
Out of the eight people arrested on 23 February, the court has given a remand period of ten days for a woman, and 15 days for the remaining seven people.
He also informed that 36 people were arrested on 27 February, out of which 28 remained in custody until yesterday evening, when 17 were released.
Out of the 11 people taken to court yesterday, ten were given remand periods of ten days, and one was released on the condition that he does not participate in protests for two months, said the police.
