Auditor General has made the decision to file a case to the Police for investigation, of Rf24m received by Housing Ministry in relation to one of their projects.

Auditor General Niyaz Ibrahim told Sun Online today that the latest audit conducted of Housing Ministry revealed that bills worth Rf24m were charged twice.

“The issue is that the money for these bills worth Rf24m was received in 2005, and again in 2009 and 2010. The case will be sent to Police hopefully today,” Niyaz said.

He said that it is not possible to say who exactly is responsible for this before the Police complete their investigation.

He mentioned that the money was paid by a private company, but did not disclose any further details.
