Court order to detain former President and theHead of Defense Mohamed Nasheed until the end of the trial has been appealed.
This has been assured to Sun Online by the Lawyers’ team of Nasheed.
The order was issued with reference of what the government has presented. Lawyer of the state, in the last hearing had said that Police Intelligence Report also mentioned that Nasheed might attempt to hide and fail to appear in court.
State lawyer added that Nasheed did not attend to the trial against him held previously at Hulhumalé Magistrate Court as well.
The state has pressed terrorism charges against president Nasheed following the arrest of Criminal Court Judge Abdulla Mohamed and taking him to Kaafu Girifushi forcefully when Nasheed was serving as the Head of Defense.
