Police release video footage showing suspects in attack on MP Riyaz

Police have released a video and appealed for help in identifying the two suspects who attacked former Commissioner of Police, Kinbidhoo MP Abdulla Riyaz.

The video shows two people on a motorcycle, but their faces are not clear.

Riyaz was attacked with crude oil while he was on his way to the parliament, on the day the parliament was scheduled to vote on the dismissal of two Supreme Court judges.

A video posted by Riayz earlier, following the attack, shows two people waiting for him on a stationary motorcycle. As Riyaz approached his car, one of them ran up to him and threw a packet of crude oil at him.

The video also shows the man fleeing the scene after the attack, on Maaveyo Magu.
