Habeeb appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Hassan Habeeb as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Before his appointment to the new position today, Habeeb was the Assistant Commissioner of Police. With the addition of Habeeb, now there are three Deputy Commissioners.

The two Deputy Commissioners in addition to Habeeb are Mohamed Soadhiq and Mohamed Saeed.

Under article 54 (b) of the Police Act, the President can appoint one or more persons to the post of Deputy Commissioner to assist the Police Commissioner in the organization and oversight of all police duties.
