The High Court has ruled that Criminal Court’s order to arrest former Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim, and its ruling to extend his remand period by 15 days, were lawful.
Nazim was arrested on 10 February in his apartment, located at G. Enif.
Nazim’s lawyer Maumoon Hameed has said that he was arrested after police found a pistol in his apartment, and on suspicion of conspiring against the government.
Police have filed a case against Nazim to the Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office, for prosecution. The PG Office has said that the matter is under investigation.
