Addu City Council owes Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) MVR 3 million, the corporation has said today.
Media Coordinator of MRDC Abdulla Rasheed told Sun Online that discussions regarding this issue were held last week, during which Addu City Council said that they have received the MVR 3 million, and would pay the amount in full to MRDC soon.
Discussions also took place regarding road conditions in Addu City, said Abdulla Rasheed, and the two parties reached an agreement to make continuous efforts to maintain roads in the city.
Deputy Mayor of Addu City Council Abdulla Thayyib told Sun Online that the government stopped providing money to the council for projects, and instead gives money to the company or the ministry undertaking projects.
