Speedboat carrying 38 passengers catches fire

A speedboat named “Villaa Roalhi 7” carrying 38 passengers has caught fire.

The incident occurred near Hulhule’.

Information Officer of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) Major Adnan Mohamed said that fire was controlled when MNDF reached the speedboat and the passengers have been moved to Hulhule’ in a different vessel.

Adnan said that fire has caught in the engine room of the speedboat.
