Parliament Member of Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo constituency Ahmed Siyam, who has been the leader of the interim committee of Maldives Development Alliance (MDA), has been appointed as the leader MDA.
Siyam has been appointed as the leader of MDA without a vote, as no one else contested against him.
At the congress of MDA held on Saturday, KendhiKulhudhoo MP Ali Mauroof, Kudahuvadhoo MP Ahmed Amir and Aishath Rafiyyaa who filled the post of Deputy Leader of the interim committee have been elected as the Deputy Leaders of MDA.
Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu also has been appointed as a Deputy Leader of MDA under the authority given to the party in the basic regulation of the party.
While members have been elected for the leadership of the party, 10 members for the National council, Youth Wing President, and Women’s Wing President were also elected at the congress held on Saturday.
