Seven tourists who got caught in water current rescued

People in a fishing boat has rescued seven tourists who went snorkeling from a safari in Gaafu Alifu Kooddoo while they were caught in water current.

The seven tourists were seen pulled away by water currents five nautical miles away due West of Gaafu Alifu Kooddoo and Vilingili. They were rescued by people in “Koamas”, fishing boat of Gaafu Alifu Maamendhoo.

A crew of the fishing boat said that they first saw some balloons and they went near the tourists when they saw the tourists waving their hands.

“When we went closer to them, we saw three tourists from there. They told us that four more members came to snorkeling with them. We saw those four tourists seven nautical miles away from kooddoo” said the crew of “Koamas” boat.
