Police request court order to arrest mother accused of son

Police have requested Criminal Court for an order to arrest the mother of Mohamed Ibthihaal, who was found dead with serious injuries in a house in Rakeedhoo in Vaavu atoll yesterday.

Police said that the court has not yet responded to the request, which was made earlier today.

Three-year-old Ibthihaal was found dead in his living room at around 11:45 p.m. yesterday.

His mother had been accused of abuse and advised by the island council on multiple occasions. Ibthihaal’s father is unknown, and the woman has two other children from another marriage.
