Certificates of recognition awarded to four individuals for rescuing whale shark

Ministry of Environment and Energy has awarded certificates of recognition to four individuals who rescued a whale shark from shallow water in the lagoon off Meemu Maduvvari.

The certificates were presented by Minister of Environment and Energy Thorig Ibrahim, at a ceremony held at the ministry this morning.

The recipients are Abdul Latheef Abdul Rahman, Mohamed Shaukath, Mohamed Siraj, and Abdul Ghanee.

Speaking at the ceremony, Thorig said that cruelty against endangered species pose great challenges for groups working for environmental protection.
