Adeeb: Will provide USD 200,000 to Autism Association

Tourism Minister Ahmed Adeeb said that he will provide USD 200,000 to Maldives Autism Association (MAA) through Tourism Industry by the end of February.

Addressing in the ceremony held at Hiriyaa School on Monday evening to celebrate fifth anniversary of MAA, Minister Adeeb said that while it has been decided to help MAA through Tourism Industry, they have already started fundraising activities.

“We have already started fundraising activities to help Autism Association. God willing, we will raise USD 200,000 through Tourism Industry for Autism Association before the end of February 2015” said Minister Adeeb.

Highlighting on the work of MAA, Minister said that a private group taking initiative before government deals with the problem is the best solution. Adeeb noted the importance of creating leaders from different fields (not only from politics) in a developing country.
