Two police officers testify against man arrested over attacking police officer at Vilimale'

Two police officers have testified in the court on Sunday against the man arrested over attacking a police officer at Vilimale’.

They said that M.Vaarey Mohamed Nasru had tried to close the door to stop police entering Minivanhiyaa of Vilimale’ on seventh of this month at around 3:45.

The two police officers who testified in the court on Sunday said that Police were able to enter the house by trying three times and when the door was opened for the third time, Nasru pointed a knife which stabbed the shoulder of a police officer and after that the three Officers came out of the house and took the injured Officer to Vilimale’ Health Center. According to them, two other Police Officers came and arrested Nasru.

The two Officers who went to arrest Nasru were also summoned to the court on Sunday, but their testimonies were not taken by the Judge.

Nasru’s lawyer requested to give an opportunity to provide evidence in Nasru’s defense. However, Judge said that Nasru has already mentioned in the trial that he does not have any evidences to present in his defense and the Judge suspected Nasru’s lawyer was going to make evidences in his defense.

When the Judge asked for a summary statement, Nasru’s lawyer said that there was nothing to say while state lawyer said that a summary statement can be given after they receive the DNA report.

Concluding the hearing on Sunday, Judge said that DNA report is not needed and that verdict will be issued on Thursday.
