President Yameen meets Police Commissioner

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has met Commissioner of Police (CP) Hussain Waheed on Monday.

Sun Online has learned that President Yameen has met CP during Monday morning at Police Head Quarters, Shaheed Hussain Adam Building. CP has been informed about the meeting a while before the meeting.

Neither Police nor President’s office had given any information regarding the meeting.

This is the first time that President Yameen has met CP.

While President has met CP on Monday, Police have raided G. Enif, the residence of Minister of Defense Mohamed Nazim under court warrant. However, Police have said that they were not informed at the time of the operation, that it was the residence of Minister Nazim, and that Nazim was accorded due respect by the officers from the moment they learned that they were dealing with his residence. Police have also said that items were obtained in the raid to support an ongoing investigation, but did not provide any details.

A tweet posted by Minister Nazim on Sunday evening said that he was not fazed by the incident and he is still serving confidently with the responsibilities assigned by the President Yameen.
